There's a giant, one-sided thread in the Current Events forum that I won with an astoundingly simple question no theist can answer. Well, Mindmetoo and others really won the thread, because they painstakingly debunked every creationist myth in the book and more!
Their opponents are of the view that there exists a celestial dictatorship run by a genocidal maniac who can and will convict you of thought-crime after you die. These mean, base and vulgar ideas are as contrary to nature and reason as they are decency. Anyway, I'd like to dedicate this thread to the following theme solely.
Dinosaurs first appeared on Earth 230 million years ago (that's merely 5% of the age of this planet, btw). What happened was they diverged from primitive archosaurs 20 million years after a major cataclysm wiped out 95% of life on earth. Analysis of fossils reveals that the dinosaurs' ancestors were small, bipedal predators and certainly more primitive. These claims can all be verified by reading "Walking with Dinosaurs": The Evidence - How Did They Know That? by Dave Martill and Darren Naish.
What do you advocate is the biblical (or generally theistic) significance of these situations? |

You can't win with bible thumpers. All they have to say is "God made it that way". |

Oh ya I forgot the old saying. Winning an argument on the internet is like being in the special olympics. Even if you win...you're still a retard. |

From how I see it, you barged into a thread and posed a question against the flow of discussion, you were consequentially ignored and now you are pouting and parading like a belligerent teenager. |

I doubt that "mindmetoo" would acknowledge that "Justin Hale's" contribution has been very significant on that thread.
"JH" is not exactly an intellectual heavyweight...
Of course, that's just my opinion, and I could be way off base here...
I guess it must be hard for him to stay humble ... |

God created dinosaur bones already 230 million years old (well, 229 994 000 years old). |

I lol'd.
As for the dinosaur thing. I don't see how that proves anything one way or another. Does it even have any bearing on the subject? |

I saw that post this morning.
This is what Justin Hale asked:

Hey theists, mystics,
I've a question.

Analysis of fossils reveals that the dinosaurs' ancestors were small, bipedal predators and certainly more primitive.

And this is how I answered it:

I can't speak for the other Creationists, but I have been reading everything I could find for and about Duane Gish, so I will share what he has to say,
He makes no mention of archosaurs. Either he doesn't know about them, hopes that his listeners and readers don't, or knows so much about them that he is sure that they are not ancestors of the dinosaurs.
According to Gish, the dinosaurs lived in Biblical times but were driven to extinction since that time. Job 40:15-24 speaks of a behemoth (Gish [1977] 1988: 16; [1992] 1996: 20) and Job 41: 18-21 speaks of a leviathan (Gish [1977] 1988: 51; [1992] 1996: 20-21). Could Job be speaking of dinosaurs?
Furthermore, there are legends of dragons from all over the world. The dragons described in these legends are amazingly similar to the dinosaur skeletons which have been unearthed since then. Could dragon be still another synonym for dinosaur (Gish [1992] 1996: 80-81; Gish [1977] 1988: 51)?
The corythosaurus (Gish [1977] 1988: 55), lambeosaurus (Gish [1977] 1988: 55), and parasaurolophus (Gish [1977] 1988: 55; Gish [1992] 1996: 82) all had hollow crests on their heads which scientists are unable to explain. Could these be storage containers for poisonous chemicals with which to assault enemies and predators? If so, then that explains the legends about fire-breathing dragons!
You may ask, "The why are dinosaurs found only in Mesozoic rock, whereas the Bible was written in Cenozoic times?" Here again, Gish has a quick answer. The alleged geologic layers were not laid by the passing of millions of years, as conventional geologists would have us believe, but by the Flood.
There were three factors at word in the Diluvian sorting. First, there was the hydraulic selection hypothesis (Saladin 1988). According to this hypothesis, species are sorted by their specific gravity: those which settled the quickest are found in the lower layers and those which settled the slowest are found in the higher layers. Next was the ecological zonation hypothesis (Saladin 1988). According to this hypothesis, the lowest layers will be occupied by species with lowest habitats, Finally, there was the upward mobility hypothesis (Saladin 1988). Here, the Creationists argue that those species which can run the fastest were those species which could run uphill the farthest before the Flood got to them.
So there you have it: with these three factors at work, the dinosaurs ranked between the so-called Paleozoic life-forms and the so-called Cenozoic life-forms!
