I have two basses.
1. Fender Performer: rare, 85, 4-string, fretted, 2 octaves, passive. As new. Best offer over 1,000 USD.

2. Crockett custom made for me in '92: 5-string, fretless, 2 octaves, active, very powerful. Much gigged but almost as new. Best offer over 2,000 USD.

I have an Ernie Ball Music Man SUB bass for sale. I have used it on a pile of gigs and recorded 2 CDs with it.
They sell for around $1000 at Nakwon
I am asking 650,000w and that includes a real nice Bodyglove Hybrid (semi hard shell backpack style) case and a sweet padded strap. All black with rosewood fretboard
you can hear it on the 1st three tracks at www.myspace.com/thefortydays
I also have an SX P bass copy that I upgraded the electronincs, bridge, pick up and nut on. I use it as my backup but have played at least 30 gigs with it and it is good to go. That one is 200,000w. Black with white pickguard and maple fretboard
cheers
Adam

the 200,000 won bass sounds like my cup of tea.
I'll be in touch. When are you trying to get rid of it by? |

(also if you wanted something new you could head down to Nakwon...for around 350,000w you could get something pretty decent) I have found that most of the stuff they sell there guitar or bass wise under 300 to be pretty poor...but in the 350-5 range you can get some decent stuff. |

I just got a stiffy looking at that bass. I'd play the *beep* out of that thing but I wouldn't pay 2,000 for it. Way too much. |

Yes, it is a great bass. Its value cannot be assessed without playing it. It was made for me, to my spec, which includes EMG's and fantastic sound range.

| OP, do you really consider a 200 000W bass good enough to gig with? it's used, so it might be ok, but at that price, you'll be lucky to get anything above a basic entry-level instrument... i'd go with the music man bass for 650 000 if i were you... |

as for the 200,000w bass. I played 30+ gigs with it here. I played a 3 hr gig with it a month ago at Woodstock in Itaewon.
The body is Solid Alder, The Neck is Canadian Maple. Same ingredients as a Fender. I upgraded the bridge to a high mass chrome bridge (similar to a Gotoh 201), Replaced the volume and tone pots with USA made CTS pots (orange cap capacitor - better than what Fender uses) changed the jack to a switchcraft jack, changed the nut to graphite and put in a Dimarzio Pick Up.
Is it as good as a MusicMan...no...but it is a very solid bass. Easily as good as a Made in Mexico Fender. Most 200,000w basses aren't great because they use plywood or poor hardwood for the neck and body. When you start out with a good platform (alder or ash body on a Fender style instrument and a maple neck) you can easily upgrade the items that aren't as good (ie electronics, bridges etc.)
Cheers

| actually, the 200 000W bass sounds pretty sweet... the dimarzio pickup alone is probably worth over 100 000! i agree that buying a decent bass and upgrading key components (pickups, pots, bridge, etc) is the way to go... |
