I want to use English Upgrade 2, co-authored by Steven Gershon, for a freshman beginner class, but I don't have my old copy anymore. Does anyone know where in Seoul (preferably not by mail) that I might be able to buy this book, or some other good English language conversation book?

My friends, if you think English Upgrade stinks or you hate Gershon, please keep it all bottled up inside. I would simply like advice on stores where I might buy this book or other good books to use. Ive used Eng Up 2 for rather low-level uni students before, and I got some really good mileage out of it.

Thanks.

Bandi-Lundis at COEX Mall (Samsung Station on green line #2).

Also might have it at Kyobo books in Kangnam.

There's a great curriculum bookstore in Suji city...we use Eng Upgrade 1 and 2 for adults...also some great conversation books there. If you're teaching highschool...or uni...we also use a series (forget the author) Children's Talk...Teen Talk...Talk Talk Talk...a few others I prefer...Picture Stories...True Stories...Easy True Stories.....I can find out the address for you...or...I may be heading there this coming weekend...you'd be more than welcome to join!! It's not "in" Seoul...but it's not too far away either.

I like the store called Kidari. They have locations all over the city (Seoul). Not sure about the rest of the country but I think so. I go to the one by Nowon Station (lines 4 and 7) in northeastern Seoul. For more information you can visit their website~ www.ikidari.com or maybe www.ikidari.co.kr.
It's one of those but mostly in Korean so have a friend help you. But once you get to the store, the salespeople speak English and are very knowledgeable about the books and other products. Besides books they carry posters, flashcards, storybooks, tapes. And they have material for all ages and levels. It will knock your socks off!

Kadari is where I go too. I like the range, and they have a discount card. I don't like the mission that is Kyobo.

How about in Daegu or Gumi? Any good English text book stores there?

I get mine at the uni bookstore and they are free.

There are a bunch of good stores in Daegu. A bunch downtown ('With Us' is one. There was a great one where I lived(Sandin Dong), but I forget the name of it right now. Maybe it'll come back.
