My question is for a vcr that works normally and is dependable, what would be the cheapest "decent" price for one in Seoul. Please keep in mind I am interested either in new or used. Where is Seoul could you get something so dependable? I am thinking you should be able to get one say starting at 30,000 won for the most basic?
In the US I could buy a vcr new starting at $50 (us) and at Circuit City on their refurbished counters you could get them cheaper, not to mention higher level ones (hi-fi stereo, etc). But anyone know where I can get one that just has a "play" button? |

Your best bet is to get a used VCR. Try going to an electronics repair shop (shouldn't be too hard to find). I don't know how typical a price this is, but my friend got one for 40,000. I got mine free from him when he left Korea. |

alright I'll look around for electronics repair shops. That might also be good since the owner will be more personal with you as a customer since he's selling you his own work (repair) rather than a retail store.. thanks. |

I got a DVD on Sale at Carre Four for 99,000 won. It's good for 110 to 220 which means I can mail it home. They're pretty light. DVD's can be as little as 8,000 on sale or 35,000 for some sets. They'll travel carry on in a CD case. DVD's rent for 1500 won near me (in Seoul). They outlast vcr tapes and have great extra features.
In case you hadn't already considered this option. |
