I finish my contract in November and me and my partner fancy doing Cambodia,Vietnam and maybe Laos for 6 weeks.
Just wondering where the best place to start was? Fly to Hanoi, fly to Vietenne, get train???
The only thing that puts me off doing all three countries is travelling around and crossing borders can be expensive. I did Thailand 2 years ago and spent 4 glorious weeks travelling round, but because it was in one country it was easy and no problems with visa or different languages.
Could i spend 5-6 weeks in one of these countries (cambodia, vietnam, laos)??
Thanks with any help!! |

I think Cambodia has no train service at all. But the the other countries like Thailand, Vietname and Malaysia have pretty good train systems. |

I don't know if you'd call the cambodian railways a 'train service' |

If you get your Laos visa at a consulate at not at the border you will get a month.
Consulate in Udon and Khon Khen will issue it in ten minutes.
No idea about Vietnam or Cambodia. |
