So chatting to one of my adult students and he was telling me how he was almost a victim of a scam...

So apparently someone got his information ie phone number, daughters school etc and phoned his wife while he was at work working...

The person said that he had kidnapped their daughter and the wife could hear some screaming noises in the background of the person calling...

The person demanded money or else...This person phoning had also called their land line so that she could not phone for help etc...

ANyway she manages to go down stairs because she said she had to pay the taxi for her son and she wrote a note to the security guard to call the police...Well the police came and went to the school and found out that their daughter hadn't been kiddnapped and that this scam is getting more common...Anyway my student was stressed etc and found out that a lot of these scams come from China and Taiwan....

Anyway just thought i'd let you know that if someone says they have kidnapped someone you know dont be so hasty to follow everything they say or something like that...

I didnt proof read this so if you are confused please ask...

So is this part of the problem with our bank accounts? Since these ethnic Koreans ( they have to speak perfect Korean) use bank accounts to get their loot , all foreigners are devils, using the banking system to rip off the locals?
