It was great.

My first trip to Thailand was wonderful, except for scary van driver and no seat belts.

And yes, for you skeptics, it really was for a convention at the Montien, about 400-500 people from all over the world for an AA convention. One cool workshop was Buddhism and the 12 steps!

Did all the touristy stuff, but best part was just relaxing on beach w/corn on cob, banana drink, foot massage and freeing the baby birds from the wood cage. Even got a fake tattoo of Donald Duck (Big Oregon Duck fan)
What a place. Warm and inexpensive.
I highly recommend the Nova Lodge in Pattaya. Great breakfast, big pool, convenient, clean and not too expensive.

Did you try any 13th stepping. Really, no one goes to Pattaya for the beach.
