C&M cable in Nowon, you know a large center for whiteys, has decided to dump Arirang and replace it with the homework channel or something as boring as paste. Geez. They got rid of CNN. They got rid of AFN (not their fault on that one). Now I'm down to Discover as the only english language station.

What I find disturbing is they've seen fit to retain their Chinese station and their Japanese station but they ditched the English station. Ummmm. Ummmm. Are there a lot of Japanese and Chinese walking around Nowon that I'm not aware of?

Not that I'm a big fan but I did like the music video show in the morning as I could figure out what my kids were listening to and could name drop in class to wake them up. And there was a 15 minute news broadcast that was okay.

I'm glad I'm outta here in 2 weeks.

Back to Canada. Toronto. Back my old career. This was my version of a sabbatical. Still debating whether or not I'll be on Dave's after I'm gone. Korea changes so much, any advice one can offer quickly becomes worthless. The evolution debate I enjoy as I learn a lot of stuff. And I do want to see how the stupid immigration rules turn out.

Quick test: They have showed this at least 50 times in the last 2 days on CNN:

How many delegates does Hillary have and how many does Obama have?

Obama now leads Clinton in the overall delegate count -- 1,253 to 1,211, according to CNN calculations.

Yes I'm the best copy and paster ever!!!!

That was quick though. Had you been paying attention to CNN and stalking my posts at the same time you could have done better.

Arirang the propaganda channel. lol. Might as well watch AFN an believe everything they say.

Get some real cable (Sky life or something like that) and you'll have no problems.

I haven't been able to get CNN on cable since I lived near Yongsan. Not for any semblance of a realistic price, anyway. They always make it an extra station you have to pay an additional 10,000 per month for! Just for that one station!

We still have AFN on our cable here. Apparently, they haven't been caught for doing it yet. They're supposed to have it off.

I watch Arrirang on DMB in the car, though. It's free.

Yeah a number of cable stations moved cnn up to a premium service level. I guess the government denied a rate increase so they moved some channels up to the premium level hoping to increase revenue.

To the other poster about skylife. I don't really watch TV. I just like something kind of informative on in the background while I use the computer.

And yeah Arirang was full of tongue in ass shows about Korea. But that was kind of the appeal. It was low hanging fruit to mock. As well, it's nice to pick out the parallels in your own culture. These are the legends we Canadians tell each other why we're a superior and unique culture and the world laps at our feet.

I think Arirang is still watchable if you upgrade your cable service. I have HD cable that I pay more than 30,000 won a month for, but I couldn't care less about Are-we-wrong!

I'm hoping cable carriers will add more foreign channels. I'd like to see Fox News Channel in Korea -- it's available in the Philippines.

I still watch Arirang on TVU. Mostly for the news. I was never able to get through my cable. Download TVU to watch some overseas channels. www.tvunetworks.com

I lost Arirang, too. While I can't think of anything I'll miss on it, it was really nice to have it there to remind me about everything that's wrong with how Korea tries to present itself to the rest of the world.
