Yes, I know that Korea isn't exactly the best country in the world to get a tattoo but I'd like to get a bit of work done while I'm over here.
Does anyone know an artist that they can recommend? It's a reasonbly simple job (semi-tribal), custom design. |

go to Max Tattoo in Kung-dong, Daejeon City.
The artist rocks. He did me up with my first ever tattoo and it turned out great. |

Hey, there are some tattoo shops in the Hongdae area. But why would you get a tat done in a place like Korea that doesn't have a large(or even small) tattoo culture? Best to go to Japan, Thailand or even back to the US or Canada for that. I've heard that the tattoo artists botch a lot of their work here. Be careful. The practice is illegal(outside of a doctor doing it). |

Go to Inkworks.
They have studios in Apgu and Hongdae and regularly have Phillip Spearman over from the USA to do work.
You will not find a better place to get ink in Korea.
Contact Iroc to book, visit the studio, talk about designs etc.

I got my work done in South Korea by Iroc's crew. Real clean premises and very fair prices. I was happy with the outcome and I've had friends use him too.
"If you wish to make an appointment please provide: (a) Your Full Name, (b) Your Phone Number, (c) Your Email Address, (d) The Date & Time You Would Like To Come. Call: Iroc 010 8998 1911(24hrs)"
He's on FB too. |

Thanks guys.
I spotted Inkworks when I was hunting. It's nice to know they got a good reputation. I'll certainly get in touch with them. |

I live in Gwangju, which is definitely more traditional than Seoul, but I still see a few tattooed Koreans out and about. Got some work done about 9 months ago. Miho Tattoo in downtown. She did an excellent job, light-handed as well. And it was way cheaper than back home in the States-cost me about 120,000 for almost three hours of work. Japan (at least Osaka) is MUCH more expensive for tattoos, expect to pay more than back home. You can pretty much find a good artist in any major Korean city. |
