I was looking for information about the Atlanta Consulate E2 process but I couldnt find any information before I got my visa, so here is my story.

I sent all my documents to the Public school in Korea.

I sent the following to the school in Korea.

1. Apostilled Criminal records check from my local county
2. Apostilled University degree copy
3. Signed contract
4. 3 visa size pictures
5. Letter of recommendation/teaching experience letter
6. Health verification form
7. Clear copy of passport
8. My resume (for good measure)

The school then applied for my visa and sent my Visa Assurance number to me. It took one week.

I then sent the following to the consulate via USPS.

1. visa application
2. visa assurance number
3. one passport picture
4. passport
5. 45usd visa fee
6. original diploma (can send official transcripts)
7. return paid envelope from USPS for them to send your stuff back

Now they called me the next day and told me they needed a copy of the signed contract and official transcripts. I explained that their own website said that an original diploma is acceptable and that the school in Korea has the contract. They said okay and hung up on me. I got the visa 2 days later.

So they got my application at 1145 Friday and I got my visa at 1420 Wednesday.

Note: they said since I was applying to work in a public school that I did not need to have an interview with them.

Hope it helps.

Good job, nice concise report.

I went through Altanta last year pretty much the same experience.
Except for the apostille crap.
