I've searched through previous posts with little luck and was wondering if someone could give some fresh insight into the question of middle school textbooks?

Basically I teach the top class of each of the three years of my middle school (L/C), but the textbooks we have are rank rotten. Can anyone recommend some solid middle school textbooks, particularly one for 3rd year students hoping to go to foreigner high school?

I don't know about top students and all of that business, but I use "Easy True Stories" with my after-school class. It might be too easy for your students, but my first year students generally find it sufficiently challenging.
