I just found out I'm working at the Eungam Elementary school in Eungam-3-dong. Anyone heard things about the school or area? Any expat areas reasonably close? I get the feeling I'm probably on my own in my immediate area but that's not horrible. My korean is at a "yes/no/please thank you" and I can read hangeul but won't know what 99% of it means. I know that there's an emart nearby and some kind of Middle Eastern market as well. Any idea of m/km to Hongdae/Sinchon?
What about a place to learn Korean? Or a gym? I know this is a lot of questions but any help at all is great. Thanks |

I lived at Eungam station last year, and I can tell you there's not a whole lot to do.
The only upsides I found:
- rents are cheaper (if your school pays, they may find you a bigger place than they would have in, say, Gangnam)
- close to Bukhansan for hiking
- Hongdae is close (Sansu station, line six) |

| Yeah it sounds like it's close to nice places, but the place itself leaves something to be desired. I'll keep sniffing around. Thanks for the info. |
