I just connected my rig w. my girlfriend's with a router. I have used routers before, and have no probs forwarding ports for bittorrent before this. I have:
1. disabled Windows firewall (not needed behind a router)
2. created a static IP for my computer, but NOT for the GF's.
3. added the exceptions in the NAT section of the router for my static IP, and saved the settings. They appear properly in the NAT section.
4. done a full shutdown/ restart and re-checked the settings to ensure that they stuck (and they did).
However, Azureus indicates that I am indeed still firewalled. When I run the NAT/ Firewall test, it fails, but indicates my external IP, not my static IP behind the router (but that's normal, yea?) Any suggestions? Do I need to set the GF's computer on a static IP also (doesn't really seem logical)? |

have you tried executing "netstat -a" in cmd? it should show you if the correct ports are open in windows. if it's there then the problem is probably with the router still. |

Just tried that, the status is of the selected port is 'SYN_RECIEVED' but that is beyond my scope of knowledge... |

have you tried turning off UPnP in Azureus?
Tools > Options > Plugins > UPnP
some routers don't support UPnP or they don't work properly with it. |

if you have a linksys they work perfect with the UPnP feature of Azureus...port forwarding is much easier for me with that setup than using uTorrent was. |

tractor, I will try that. The router is a Korean one, ZIO X10. When I forwarded the port in the NAT section of the router following the directions from portforward.com, the router page did report "UPnP Established" for the desired port, but will try turning it off anyways. Any other ideas or input appreciated. |

also you might want try keeping the same port number for the WAN and LAN. my router has problems if i try to port forward the LAN to a different port on the router in NAT. |
