Coming from Ontario (Canada) where we have a graduated licensing system for driving, I'm curious about the transition to a Korean driver's licence...
If I have my G1 or G2 (both learner's permits with various restrictions) would I receive my full license in Korea? Could I then transfer that Korean licence (with a letter from the ministry) to a full Canadian licence when I came home? |

The last I checked (a few years ago) you CAN change a Korean license into a "full" Ontario driver's license when you get home.
Whether you can change a G1 or G2 into a Korean license, I don't know. Sorry. |

Trading a foreign drivers license (the regular car license at least, but not a motorcycle license) is a fairly painless process and costs very little money. |

lol... I only ask because I'm hoping to "beat the system" a bit... The current 3rd party who is running our licensing system in Ontario is a purely profit driven enterprise... Passing your driver's test (practical, not written) depends more on who you are being tested with than it does your actual driving ability... And there are set quotas for pass/fail (from what I've heard at least...)
Figure I would take my G1 here, go to Korea for a few years, and come home with a full licence... |
