Hi everybody,

I just moved into Suji yesterday. I'm here for a 3-month contract, then I'm supposed to return to Canada, do some work for a month, then fly back to complete a year's contract.

Because it was such short-notice, I'm living in my boss' apartment in Suji, which is better than it sounds because he's in Canada and it's just his wife here. I am, however, moving into my own apartment (I think) at the beginning of April.

So, a few questions:

1) Should I stay in Suji or is there a much-better place for me to be? I like the short commute to the school, but I don't want to be away from everything good.

2) How can I get in touch with other english-speakers? I have no problem making friends with Koreans, but I don't know the language and it'll take at least a few months to get up to speed.

3) Where's the party? I mean, really... can somebody who enjoys the outdoors, culture, partying and meeting other people have a fulfilling experience in Suji, or does he need to GTFO?

Suji is not too bad. I lived next door in Bundang but ti there a few times. There is pretty good shopping and the social scene isn't to bad. There is usually a local bar every one goes to on Friday and then into the city Saturday. Seohyeon Station in Bundang has 2 foreigner hangouts also. The only bummer is that you won't be on the subway line, but the bus to Bundang is only 10 minutes or so. Good luck.

Thanks Clyde... I'll see if I can figure out where that bar is. I don't think I can venture into Seoul tonight just because I'm positive I'll never make it back, but soon.

Spliff - yup, but it's not as creepy as you (and your avatar) make it sound.
