| Maybe I'll piss off a few people who are addicted to Tim Hortons coffee but one of my students was doing the negotiating to partner up with a foreign donut chain. They were in discussion with Tim Hortons but wound up signing with Mr. Donut. |

Makes sense
Mr. Donut is based out of Japan. There are already lots of Japanese companies doing joint operations in Korea.
Tim Hortons isn't really interested in expansion outside of North America. |

It's basically Krispy Kreme except the doughnuts (donuts for ya'll 'mericans out there) the doughnuts aren't as good but coffee is slightly better. Oh yeah, they have soup and sandwiches. What else? It's named after a hockey player who died in a drunk driving accident. |

Tim Hortons is only appealing if you match it with a jerk water town that rolls up the sidewalks after 9 pm and there's no place to go late night to chat with friends.
The coffee never impressed me. The donuts are standard. |

| We've got quite a few Timmy Ho's in Western NY as well. I wouldn't mind seeing TH in Korea... would give me a bit of a nostalgia kick. |

| Tim Horton's is more then just coffee and donuts. It is the memory of early morning coffee before hockey, or the long commute just goes by faster with a large double-double and bagel. Hanging out with friends, ditching school. So many memories with friends. If you are from a small town timmies is the only thing to do. |

I saw Tim Hortons in Washington once, I think, can't remember, that trip was somewhat of a blur.
Regardless, every Canadian I have met who talks about Tim Hortons tells me that it is the bomb or something like that. Well, I want to experience Tim Hortons now.
I guess I'll have to go to Canada for the first time. Until then, I'll eat more poutin or wine gums when I want my Canada fix.
(Used to live with a Saskatchawaner. He was fd up, but funny as hell.) |
