Up until now, he's pretty much been the presumptive nominee. With 256 delegates up for grabs in Tuesday for the Republican primaries, there's no doubt he'll get the remaining delegates he needs.

2008 Republican Delegates

Delegate Count State Date Delegates

McCain 1014
Romney 272
Huckabee 254
Paul 145

Needed 1191 to clinch the nomination

Meanwhile for the Democrats:

2008 Democratic Delegates

Delegate Count
State Date Delegates

Obama 1384 (Superdelegates 191, Pledged Delegates 1193)
Clinton 1279 (Superdelegates 241, Pledged Delegates 1083)

Ohio, Texas, RI and Vermont on 3/4-370 delegates
Wyoming on 3/8-12 delegates
Mississippi on 3/11-33 delegates

Here's the delegate calculator if you want to figure out the different scenarios that are possible.
