I made a post about this about a year ago but the search function couldn't find it..sooo I've gone and done the same thing again and can't remeber how to fix it. My laptop didn't shut down properly and when i restated it I clicked on restore to last known whatever thingymabob... so it has resotred to these huge icons and print and when i open a webpage I only get part of it on the screen and have to scroll back and forth....= really annoying. It's like it is for vision impaired people. Anyone know what to do? I tried changing the text sze that didn't work. I'm computer illiterate so a very simplistic explanation would be great.
cheers!

XP?
Right click on the desktop. Change the resolution on the settings tab.
Should do the trick.

If it isn't the resolution it might also be the actual vision impared tool. I don't remember where it is exactly, but I think it's on the accsessories menu on the start menu

I think the path is:
Start menu>program>acessories>accsessibility

but it's most likely the resolution like nobbyken said.

OK, so it is the screen resolution, but the comp won't let me change it... I can't slide the resolution thing to the right. It says 'default display monitor on' above it. When I went into advanced and monitor, the properties button is not highlighted..ie i can't click on it to change it. So any other ideas?

It could be that something happened to your graphics card drivers.

Click Click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System, on the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

Scroll down the list. If something has a question mark by it, then XP doesn't recognize that device and is using the simple, standard drivers. You will need to download the drivers and (re) install them.

Sometimes, windowsupdate.com will also install device drivers.
