Where can I get some sample lesson plans (in particular for the book 'Middle School English')?
I have found alot of resources for elem school but not so much for middle school. My Kor co-teachers do absolutely nothing, never offer to help for lesson prep and just sit back and kick it when I teach. |

Hi, try this link below. I think you will find it VERY useful:
http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewforum.php?f=3
It is called the "Job-related Discussion Forum". Sorry if it was
confusing. That is where people post with "job" related questions. |

You should state the publisher or describe the cover art of the book you are referring to, plus the grade you are teaching. I'm guessing there are at least a dozen books named "Middle School English." |

Yep, that'll happen if you let it happen. There is a huge discrepancy between how we native speakers "imagine" our classroom situations will be and the reality of those situations. In my first year I had 6 co-teachers and everyone of them stood at the back of the classroom while I stood at the front. "Uh...Choi son saeng nim would you stand at the front with me please". (quizzical look appears on her face). "I need your help please, will you please stand at the front with me". (pause) "Oh, okay."
Most (not all) of your co-teachers are perfectly willing to help you, but you need to *instruct* them to do so. Many co-teachers have an expectation that YOU are "number 1 teacher" and they must not interfere because they might be stepping on your toes. They will assist you when, and only when, you give them a task to do. It is up to you to explain your expectations and write up their tasks in your lesson plans e.g.
Activity 1: I will do abc. The co-teacher will do xzy
My co-teachers were only too happy to take a more active role once I told them what I wanted them to do in class - "Kim son saeng nim would you walk round the class and check the students' answers please". "Park son saeng nim will you model this dialogue with me please".
Ask for assistance and be very specific. Your co-teachers are waiting for your cue to help out. |

I suppose you're referring to the Middle School English series by Doosan? (Covers: Grade 1 has a picture of the twin towers. Grade 2 has a picture of a hot air balloon. And Grade 3 has a picture of some soccer players.) |

I have Middle School English (grades 1, 2, and 3) by Daniel H. Lee. (Covers: 1 - two boys looking at a map, 2 - Statue of Liberty and 3 - two boys out camping.)
I want help with lesson plans too. |
