I refuse to have kids...but we can adopt? I'm curious how they would respond to this. Generally I hear all this stuff about men wanting to pass on their genetic material, but I believe in letting the bad strains die out. As for reproduction rates, it seems more effective to take some poor kids and raise them rather than just making more. Lastly I have 2 adopted siblings and 2 biological siblings and the adopted ones are happier.
Also I don't like the idea of a pregnant wife at all. So how does one explain this? |

| The adopted siblings are happier because they were adopted? |

That's the beauty of adoption. Do it the other way and you're stuck with the sperm-meets-egg-don't-know-what-fucking-concoction-will-pop-out lottery.
If you adopt you get to browse and get something that you might reasonably want. |

^^I agree and maybe find a better word than 'refuse'. Personally, I feel the same way as the OP. I would much rather adopt a child than have my own. You might find someone who understands, and who knows you might change your mind when you get older. |

Where do you think you came from?
(P.S., thanks for cleaning up the gene pool.) |

| For the record, when looked at dispassionately there is nothing visually attractive about a pregnant woman. Remember those television images of Ethiopia in the 80s? Those kids with those bulging stomachs look about the same as a pregnant woman. |

A Modest Proposal by Jonathon Swift.
A good piece of writing, that. |

Although I'm well beyond the bearing children time of lif, I did in fact give birth several times.
Although I have no emotional or other involvment in passingon my genes, I found that being pregnant, giving birth, and nursing a baby, were absolutely unbelievable...I loved it. Although I have adopted cousins, and am firmly a proposnent of adoption, and even had an adopted child of my own, I would nothave missed the pregnant, birthing, nursing thing for anything in the world. |

Exactly how you just explained it.
INCLUDING the part about not wanting a pregnant wife.
This post made me laugh because it's exactly what my husband told me (not wanting to have biological children and pregnancy is a complete turn off to him).
I'm glad he did, because I agree. |

All of you would have been stoned with stones any time before the 20th century.
Such perverse ideas! Not having children and all !!!
