And I'm talking about new teachers, not new students. One of them who just introduced herself to the staff room in her rehearsed, timid, sing-song voice sounded exactly like a high school student having to make a public presentation for the first time in her life. I sure hope they come across with a bit more confidence to the students than they did to the teachers. Thank goodness none of them are English teachers!

Yu-Bum-Suk it's a sign that your getting old. When I was back home and saw a copper I would think by heck he or she is young. I'm getting old and I'm only in my early thirties!!

One of them actually looks like she has a little bit of confidence. I think she's probably taught before. Since she'll be taking over from the teacher in charge of organising student cleaning and work squads she'll need to know how to snap students into line pretty quick. She also seems to believe that I'm older than her, which is nice since I'll be sitting beside her all year.

The other one looks like she could pass for a student if we put her in a school uniform. God help her if she gets stuck teaching our vocational students.

Oh yeah. The bird in the headlights look.
Check out Garrison Keillor in today's IHT for similar.

You are simply getting older and more bold and independent every year.

Whining and complaining about young people is a sign of old age.

Unfortunately I've seen far too much emperical evidence that suggests young Korean PS teacher = total incompetent. Hopefully these latest two will prove me wrong.

Actually it's empirical, but I'd say your spelling mistake is worse than mine. Wink

One of our best teachers was pased over for a full-time position in favor of a worthless she-devil. It's very discouraging.
