If McCain won the election, would he be a one term president?

I watched Meet the Press and they were discussing how important his VP decision will be because McCain might be too old to win for election if he won.

Some opinion piece said McCain has already mentioned that he would probably only serve one term if elected.

I hadn't seen those articles, but then again I've been much more interested in what is going on the D side. I think there is a strong assumption that given the fact he is going to be 72 by the time he would be worn in, if he won, that one term would be all he could do.

It seems to me he has to pick someone very creditable and who would be ready to fight for the nomination four years from now as the sitting VP.

I remember seeing an article where Arnold said he though the law should change, but he wouldn't run.

I'll be back.....

As I don't think McCain would win to begin with, here's another question.

Do you think Obama would score a second term?

I do, if he doesn't pull a Clinton I would vote for him again.

Czar,

Nothing is impossible in politics, given the fact Clinton will try to drag the party into a contested convention that could give McCain an opening. McCain also has to run a very non-traditional Republican campaign though, which is going to be hard. He has to keep the right and court the middle.

I get where you're coming from, but I'm going to blissfully remain in my coma of nonchalance. The results of today's contests my pop my bubble, but I doubt it. Looks like Obama going to win Texas and do well in Ohio. Hopefully Clinton will have the good grace to get out.
