Does anyone know if you can buy a remote control unit for Microsoft PowerPoint so that you can activate the slides without having to be sat down clicking the mouse everytime?

Cheers.

They aren't that difficult to find. Technomart, Yongsan, any largish stationary store, and in several of the large bookstores.

What's the name of that big electronics / stationary store in COEX Mall? I've seen several of these gadgets there, starting around 40,000. You can buy some really fancy ones, with laser pointer, volume controls and everything! The one I got has a built-in 1 GB flash drive and laser pointer. I use it almost every day--the batteries (3 watch-style ones) last about a semester.

Linko (or Linko's -- anyway, a Kinko's derived word).

Here's mine. I use it everyday. Works great. Also works with Windows Media Player.

You can find them for half this if you don't want 3m.

That's excellent. Thanks.

Haha. Wait till they get a load of me this semester if I manage to pick up one of those. Our library has just had a major refit costing serious $$$ and I've been told to use it as much as I like so I'm planning on teaching all my classes in there this semester.

It's got a brand new PC and a huge (maybe 10 ft across) drop-down screen all wired up to the internet/speakers etc, but best of all is the seating - it has 6 large tables, which will each fit 6-students meaning I can get some serious group competitions going on. Up till now, I've been teaching roughly 30 students per lesson in tatty old classrooms. It's been really difficult trying to manipulate the classroom dynamic as there generally isn't enough room to swing a cat let alone get the students split into different groups.

Having a remote means I'll be able to circulate etc whilst I'm pulling up new slides and activating audio clips etc. The only downside is that I don't have an old fashioned blackboard any more, which I'll miss.

I have one and love it. hell it can even operate as a remote control mouse (really slow but it does work).

The range in price from 30,000 to 100,000 - I got a microsoft presenter for around 50,000 1 year ago in Technomart.

On the subject of PowerPoint, does anybody happen to know how to animate a single word within a block of text? (as in a gap fill exercise with the missing words revealing themselves with each subsequent click of the mouse).

Just spent about an hour going through a Microsoft tutorial but whenever I highlight the word in question the animation applies itself to the entire paragraph rather than the single word.

Appreciate any help/tips.

Put it in a different text box and position that textbox over the blank.
