Can anyone recommend any good places to drink and hangout in Busan which doesn't have any clientele like the bloke who started that "why work in Korea?" rant a few posts down. I've been once before but didn't know what was good, there were bars everywhere.
Also, any places to go mountainbike riding or hiking? or is it just one big concrete jungle?

Kurtz, you were based in Mokpo weren't you? We exchanged messages last year.

Get onto mtbk on yahoogroups. There are a few expat riders based in Busan and, naturally, loads of Korean riders Smile . Maybe get to know some of the expats first and they can introduce you to the local trails, shops and Korean riding buddies.

OK cheers for that. Hopefully there is a good crew for after work riding and have fun in Yeosu, it looked like a hilly region with many MTB possibilities. I recommend going to Dolsando, staying the night and getting up for a mindblowing sunrise from the monestary if you haven't done so already, or feel free to pop over to Busan.
Cheers

I'm guessing you mean Hyangiram temple on Dolsan island. As it happens I was there for the first time just a couple of days ago.

To be honest, I've concluded that though Yeosu has some beautiful countryside riding, it's not that great for mountain biking. There are very few people to ride with and the trails here are very steep and short, albeit with some nice sections.

nice pics. Took a dry run to work today and near where I live I found an active MTB shop with some expat guys. The owners seem very into it so I might need some training before I head out as I've been easting curries everyday for the last 2 months.
Busan looks great and I'm in a top spot near a beach.
