So I have been in Korea for 5 months now and so far have not payed into the health plan. My Hagwon claims it has not recieved the bill from the government. Same story with the pension, have not paid a dime into it. But, I have the health insurance card along with my ARC. My hagwon is pretty good, pays on time, takes out my taxes and asks my if everything is ok, so I dont think they would shaft me, but who knows.....
Ive been to the hospital once, had bronchitis. I only handed over my ARC as I didnt have this health card yet and only ended up paying 20000 won for a shot and some meds. My hagwon insists I have insurance but I am skeptical. What the heck happens if the bill comes tomorrow? I pay 5 months of medical and pension at once... i'd have no money!
Any advice or anyone I can call? |
