In spite of the March 1st application deadline, and that the SMOE Orientation has passed, they are aggressively recruiting me for these teacher and related positions...They also claim that government school assignments do not require apostilled background checks....
Anyone know is this is a reasonably decent and reliable recruiter to deal with? I've stopped looking for a good one....
Thanks!

Wow... and here we had a Korean politician bragging that all of these positions had been filled a long time ago. Still, we see recruiter after recruiter advertising these positions, and new people coming on here to ask about them.
Anyone else thing someone in the educational office is full of crap, and bucking for a promotion?
To answer your question, they're a well-known recruiter. I have no idea about their other claims. All recruiters are good and bad, at best. |

My gf is starting for them next week, the paperwork, visa run and so on have all been up to snuff. Yes, no apostille but still need CRC and medical. |

"Last chance for public school jobs! Apply now!!!"
School starts tomorrow. In my province alone there are nineteen unfilled positions. |

They got me a SMOE job--stuff was last minute, but some of that is my fault. |

Smoe orientation is now. Kelly at smoe made it very clear to me that you start march 2nd or you wait until fall semester. She said no exceptions. I am interested to hear when your start date is. |

|
|
She tried selling me on some elementary/kindy type position, but I told her I wasn't interested. Said it was high school students or older. Then she stated, 'yes, there are still several positions open.'
Recruiter stated that I would be interviewed by someone from SMOE within 48 hours, then would have to FedEx my paperwork to Seoul for processing. Recruiter didn't bother to inform me of the job specifics/duties...just felt that the whole process was a formality to receiving my paperwork in the mail. I mean, the recruiter didn't bother to read my application, qualifications, or essay.
Then she asked abut references but seemed to think it was a matter of just filling in little boxes, and that these things never get checked.
The subject of orientation came up and the answer is that there would be an "individual orientation" by the school.
Will update when and if SMOE calls me early this coming week. |
