From CNN:

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/US/03/03/pentagon.china/index.html

Quote:
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Chinese military continues to increase spending on efforts to break into U.S. military computer systems, expand its Navy, and invest in intercontinental nuclear missiles and weapons to destroy satellites, according to the latest U.S report on China's military power.

Quote:
Pentagon officials said a chunk of China's spending went to cyberwarfare, because 2007 saw several "intrusions" believed to be from the Peoples Liberation Army. In the incidents, unclassified U.S. military computer systems were broken into and information was taken, according to Pentagon officials

Yikes?

They've been doing this since the mid '90s. Nothing particularly new from a news perspective. And yet, they (the Chi-Coms) never cease. How many more of our secrets can they steal?

And now that they're flush with our money (thanks Clinton and especially Bush) they have the spending power to get that blue-water navy they've always wanted so they can tangle with us for Taiwan.

Their plan seems fairly simple; wait for us to get weak, target out weak spots, and take what they want while we're deaf, dumb, and blind. With those new ICBMs they know we won't fight back.

That is, of course, whether or not they'll get to spend it on that. Their economy may not weather the economic storm. And they're running out of drinking water. The Politburo may have goals of 1st world power but dying peasants have other priorities.

So which is more important, right wing wackos? Iran or China? Because those ships and those ICBMs sure aren't meant for 'peace'.

Since people have been spying on the neighbors since neighbors were invented, I wonder what secrets we've gleaned from Chinese computers.

Don't worry too much about this. The US, and the west in general, will NOT EVER, NEVER go to war with China.

At least not a land war. That would be falling victim to one of the classic blunders.
