So, my Korean sister-in-law is pregnant and she wants a Korean name for a girl that sounds English. We're putting together a list. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It would help if you posted the family name, but I like Cheyanne. It's very close to the the Korean names Choi and Ahn. They can be pronounces the same.

Or a similat pronounciation Cheyenne. Cheyenne Indians - Crystalinks
The Cheyenne are a Native American nation of the Great Plains

Thanks for the suggestion. The family name is Kim, but she will be an American and will have my brother's name.

My son's name is Aaron (아론)... I suppose Erin may be usable for a girl, though. It was one of our choices for a girl.

Hannah was first choice for a girl's name.

My Korean wife and I wanted to give our son both an english (err, Scottish) and Korean name, but we were forbidden by the Korean registry as he can only have two names plus a family name, so we had to just give him the one name. So instead of Callum Min Young McManus, he is Callum McManus.

Go figure!

Grace is a name used by many Korean females, and it's what we chose for our daughter. Can't figure out Korean on this work PC, but it's pronounced 'GuRaeISu'.
Also in my last school there was a girl called SooSanHa (Susanha).
