Is anyone else getting mail returned from "hanmail.net?" I even sent a message to their site ([email protected]) about errors and it also was rejected. |

I had this problem in Korea and outside of Korea.
I honestly believe they limit incoming foreign email. "No KR no entry" type bs. I have no proof outside of the fact that yahoo, nameplanet, lycos, aol, earthlink, hinet and hotmail emails I've tried to send over the last few years have bounced. ALL of them.
This never hapened with Yahoo.co.kr account, but a lot of Korean aquaintances think Yahoo Korea isn't Korean enough. Whatever.
Hanmail sucks. Pure and simple.
Cheers,

Yeah I had the same problem - but a few weeks back a few days in a row, and haven't tried to send anything more since (was seding from Hotmail to Hanmail). Have since opened a Yahoo account instead - given more space than hotmail... |

YES!
I've sent out letters/resumes via e-mail to Korea and have had a lot of them come back.

I tried it from variosu coutnries and various services and ISPs. Let's put it this way I would bet a lot of money (if I had it) that they block international emails.
Frogs in the well.

Joe

Resend the email but instead of "hanmail.net" use "daum.net". That generally tends to work. |

I read a blurb somewhere about a year ago that Hanmail was going to block hotmail, yahoo, etc. "to combat spam." Funny that this was decided during the height of the anti-American orgy that we were subjected to then.
Also interesting because I have received many more spams with Korean addresses than hotmail or yahoo addresses. |

I had problems before the recent ugliness, but it wouldn't surprise me. Yeah - I receive more Korean spam than anything else.
Typical.
I simply tell friends "get a yahoo account or I won't write you at all." It takes 5 minutes of explaining because most Koreans dont' believe that Koreans would do such thing.
It's rather cold of me to do so but if someone wants to be jingoistic and go for the local, controlled shitebox email service then I won't write them. I can waste my time on other things (like posting here!).
Frog in the well syndrome.
