Koreans are obviously not so fond of their own baseball, etc.'s team's merchandise.

Personally, I've only seen a couple of baseball hats, basketball jerseys...okay, I lied about that part...and football shirts of Korean teams in public. Yet, foreign teams, especially MLB baseball hats and foreign shirts are all the rage. Can't go anywhere without seeing one. Sheeit, today I saw my own university's logo worn by an old man.

Not that I didn't give him props for it... Very Happy

But, where does it originate from? Most of them must have no idea what their apparel represents.

Lately, locally....I've seen more Houston Astros hats than you'd find in the city itself.

I'm not against it in any way, just curious, what exactly are they intending to display?

It's consumerism at it's most confounding...in the furthest reaches of what I would geographically assume that it had an impact.

I have taken noticed to that...and is that MLB company legit here...or just another knock off like "Tommy Atkins"

too add.....I saw a girl wearing a Greek fraternity shirt...of a fraternity that I don't think would want non members wearing them...or do they have Greek organizations in Korea now? I wonder what pledging would be like. Laughing

there is a MLB franchised shop here in masan. most everything in the shop is geared towards the urban/hip hop look. they have the oversized hats that are to be worn askew and puffyjackets but very little of the game wear.

no StL hats around. down here many, many BoSox fans apparently.

Ye, I noticed that too.

My friend and her brother just finished shopping and I met them for lunch. During which, he showed his sister his cap and asked what the English writing meant. She didn't know, he showed it to me, and I read "Astros" not being familiar with baseball I wasn't sure, but I found an MLB logo on it and told him it was a baseball team. So he obviously isn't a huge fan.

The hat looks pretty spiffy though Wink

When in Rome, right?

So to fit in, I should rock out a Kia Tigers Jersey with a Lotte Giants ballcap?

Yes.

(But I always wonder if the Korean wearing one has any idea what the "B" stands for. I suspect the % is pretty low.)
