It's the last period of the day and I'm at my desk. There are about 14 other teachers in this big office.
No socks feels so good. |

I hear you. It's gorgeous out there, practically spring, and they've got the heat blasting in here. |

I know! It's the third day of school and I was sweating in class. A drop of sweat landed on one of my student's worksheet. It was hilarious. |

Only interesting if you can get some really nasty foot odour happening.
Next time wash your socks don't bother to dry them just put them straight in the closet. Wait several days for a foul odour to develop. Wear the socks to school and take them off when you arrive. By then hopefully the reek would be transfered to your ugly bare feet.
A couple of really long toenails and some hobbit hairs would make a nice finishing touch. |

I live next to a park with a massive amount of standing water. This summer is going to be hell. |

Heel fissures can affect anyone, but risk factors include:
Living in a dry climate (ie, winter in Korea)
Obesity
Consistently walking barefoot or wearing sandals or open-backed shoes
Inactive sweat glands
Like many foot conditions, heel fissures can become more dangerous if they go untreated and become deep or infected. This is especially dangerous for people with diabetes or compromised immune systems. |

The socks reduce the risk of callouses & fissures. |

TAS: You must be Canadian. My feet cannot handle -10c temperatures in the winter mornings (late Dec, winter camp in January, early February.) I had the same problem, last winter, too. Now I wear woollen socks. End of problem. The rooms are not always heated, either.
Oh, & in case you weren't aware, slippers are mandatory in Korean classrooms. They give zero support to your heels, too.
I can assure you that I looked a far bigger tool, hobbling from classroom to classroom, because my feet were split & bleeding. I've never had this problem before, in my life. It's the cold, dry air, & slippers, that are responsible. |
