|
|
I received the below from Kristy and Danny Celoni, their English Setter Zac escaped from their yard overnight and is (presumably) wandering around somewhere in Itaewon.
If anyone sees Zac could they please contact either Kristy on 010 8699 1157 or Danny on 010 5193 6555
Thanks a lot
Hi Tim
Hope you found enough homes for the dogs at Daejeon. I know a few people from my husbands work adopted a dog.
I am actually contacting you in regards to my dog. Yesterday, due to our faulty electronic gate he escaped and I was wondering if you could give me some advice as to where I can start looking (name of dog shelters, vets etc). We have an excellent vet in Itaewon and she is helping us out but we want to cover all of our bases. I have attached my contact details and pictures of him. If you can forward to anyone you know or any shelters I would really appreciate it.
Last seen - Wednesday 5th March 10 am.
Name - Zac
He is an English setter, white with ginger patches/freckles, he has a small, shaved patch on his chest from previous operation, he is very, very cute....
I know its a long shot but I am hoping that someone has picked him up.
Hopefully we find him soon
Thanks
Kristy Celoni

Whenever I see a post like this, I think to myself "I wonder how long it will take for the first witless retard to make a comment about the dog being eaten by a Korean?"
In this case it took 45 mins, I had estimated only 30.
Note to Lekker, Fishead Soup etc - trawling the forums for threads about dogs and then posting comments about them being eaten isn't witty or clever (especially after the first 500 times...) |

But the novelty of posting such comments is priceless.....especially since it is true......
I just want to say:
Dogs ARE NOT pets in Korea.
Dogs ARE part of the foodchain.
The sooner you realize that, the better off you'll be |

Dogs ARE pets in Korea.
Dogs ARE A SMALL PART of the foodchain.
Some random Korean person is not going to just take an English Setter off of the street and take it home and eat it. Use your head. Doesn't work like that.
I hope they can find the dog. Hopefully someone picks it up and takes it to a local vet or shelter!! |

Clearly the word "novelty" has a different meaning to you than the rest of the English speaking world.
Novelty: state or quality of being novel, new or unique: newness
Monotony: wearisome uniformity or lack of variety, tedious sameness or repetitiousness |

I was just having fun with the situation.....I can know from experience how difficult it would be to lose a pet (especially one that a person would consider family)
Seriously...
To the OP: There are several vet clinics in Bogwang Dong near the Chunghwa Apartment complex area....I would go to them and show pictures of your dog to see if anyone there had seen your dog...Also you can post a flyer at the police station if you can the station chief's permission.
Good luck
To those progressive human/animal rights people that troll the board- get over yourselves......animals have different cultural values in different places........what you might consider a pet might be considered food.....I would love to see you eat a beef hamburger or steak in India..........you guys REALLY need to lighten up

I wasn't implying that the adjossi was going to eat him. I just said I'm sure some hungry adjossi has picked him up by now. He could have taken the dog to Outback for a steak dinner or McDonalds for a happy meal.
I hope you find your dog.
Note to dog owners in Seoul. Do not leave your dogs outside unattended.
If you want to call me a witless retard, go right ahead. I could care less. You spend too much time hating on people. |

Sorry about the situation OP. Hope he is found soon!!
He is the splitting image of my R&W Irish Setter to the last speckle. The red and white Irish Setter is very rare. They originate from the time when breeders opted to do away with the white and concentrate on the red.
Are you positive that he is an English Setter? If you tell me how to get a pic onto Daves you will see what I mean. |

As far as the eating dogs things goes; it is overplayed and not necessary to comment about it. We have all heard that 1000 times.
My dog recently got lost from me and I found her 4 days later running around in a busy area. Low and behold! No one took her and ate her.
OP, there is hope you can find your Setter (as attested by my luck in finding my dog). I wish you the best of luck! I love English Setters (I had 2 back home), hence my username here. Best of luck to you, and keep us posted, please.
My boys, now both deceased since I have been in Korea.

I'm familiar with all setters, and you are correct about the similarities between the OP's ES and a Red and White IS. By his size he looks to be an ES though, I think. |

Nope. Sorry. I still don't think that would happen. Drunk, broke and hungry men in Korea aren't exactly known for taking people's pets off the street and eating them. |

Kristy and Danny adopted Zac from the KARAMA pound (which is a REALLY sad place as anyone has ever visited there will know - you can see pics of all the lost dogs and cats needing homes at http://karama.or.kr/community_7.asp ) - they receives hundreds of lost animals every month.
So I imagine they're not really sure about Zac's breed, they just thought he looked like an English Setter.
Kristy has been to see all the vets in her area and my vet has posted Zac's picture on the intranet site that all the vets in the Yongsan area use to keep track of lost animals.
I have also suggested she find out from her vet which council pounds Zac might be taken to if he was picked up by a council ranger/stray animal collector and also take some pics of him and her contact details to those pounds in case he is brought in.
I'll update if/when there is news. |
