|
|
Hey everyone. I have a phone interview with them this week and am unsure about what to expect. What kind of questions do they ask? What kind of questions should I prepare? Do most people 'pass' the interview? Any other info you'd like to share would be nice too. Thanks |

I can't remember the questions that they asked me...but for whatever reason, I didn't pass!! I do remember that the one that interviewed me talked as though she were on some sort of medication.
Read some of the comments on here about Footprints before making your final decision.
Good luck!! |

you MIGHT have trouble finding and posts about Footprints because a certain co-owner of that company MIGHT be paying this very website yawl are currently viewing alot of money to post recruiting ads. Footprints MIGHT have contacted SOMEONE to persuade them to remove entire threads on this website and then MAYBE they even revealed the identity of SOMEONE who had been posting on this forum using an anonymous ID. But I doubt it... After all, Dave's ESL cafe wouldn't want to allow thier viewers (customers) to doubt the idea (illusion) of their provision of a public sphere into which those teachers can discuss, enlighten, compare, contrast, and warn.
So of course they didnt delete important threads that warned about Footprints and reveal the IDs of people who submitted posts to those threads.. |

We're just viewers. The advertisers are the true customers. They pay the bills (and more). When did you ever have the illusion that this site was truly meant for teachers trying to help each other? We're just a means to achieving page hits. Just ask Grotto.

hahaha agreed... but lets just NOT see how long this very thread goes before it DOESNT get deleted.
Do you really think people just come on here to toot thier own horns? I think the most useful applications of a site like this is to help each other out... but then again, I know I am often one to enjoy riling people up with my controversial posts so... hehe... |

in my experiences on this site, it's basically a place for people to come and be rude to one another. it's useful for finding information, but you have to sift through lots of nonsense posted by idiots to find what you're looking for. |

Without page hits, the ad money would dry up fast.
It is not as if there is a great barrier to entry for putting up a website and forum. |

Hi,
Footprints is the longest interview I have had so far! I think it was about an hour long. The lady was very nice and asked me questions like:
Why do I want to come to Korea?
When do I want to come?
Have I got all my documentation ready?
Where would I like to be located?
What ages of students I would like to teach?
How would I deal with badly behaved students?
If my methods for discipline didn't work, what would I then do?
What is my teaching style?
What experience do I have?
If I have no experience in teaching what transferrable skills do I have?
What work am I doing at the moment?
What degree do I hold?
How many hours was my TEFL course?
What are my strengths?
What are my weaknesses?
What do I already know about Korea?
All straight forward stuff really! There were many more questions, however, I have forgotten them at present.
Good luck!

I meant to respond to this before but I forgot. In a sense we're not the customers; we dont pay money to get any service from this site.
However, we are somewhat like a necessary element or commodity needing to be brought in for the true customers to have incentives to post ads. Without the forum, this website's popularity would diminish since the namesake of the website seems to come, first and foremost, from the reputation it gets from its forum. The viewers and posters of this site, a specific and unique audience, have made it a household name. Not the people who place ads here. The people who place ads here do so BECAUSE of the viewers and not the other way around...
And that is why Dave's would certainly would not want to get the reputation for playing to the hands of evil, untrustworthy, dishonest companies as seen by the market place products they bring in for all the companies who pay to have their ads on here. |
