How can I get TV on my laptop?

My apartment is small. I don't watch TV all that often, but I would like to have it when I want it. I want to get rid of my television.

I've heard of IPTV, but I don't really know how it works. With IPTV, can I get TV through my internet connection and bypass a TV Tuner card?

If I need a TV Tuner card, then where can I get one for my laptop? I've been to Yongsan a few times, but I haven't seen any yet.

Gosh they're all over.

They are a USB plug-in thing with an antenna coming out of the top.

well there are a number of websites that stream live television from around the world...

SOPCAST and TVUPLAYER are two of the most popular i believe...

http://quicksilverscreen.com/ has some live streaming channels and a bunch of on demand shows...

http://www.channelsurfing.net/
this site has links to tons of live sporting events and some tv shows...

http://www.myp2p.eu/index.php?part=sports

this is also a great one for sports....if there isnt a link to the event under the sport that u are looking for, browse the forums for said sport, and there are other links posted in there usually...

now that is the best that I can suggest for watching live TV, and if u like sports, u can get a lot of games live and free....as for TV shows...torrents are usually the easiest way to get them...and then u can watch them in your own time

I hope this goes through. I've tried for days to reply to this thread, but I keep getting some kind of Invalid Session error.

Basically, I want to watch TV on my laptop. And yes, I want the commericials too. I hate commercials, and that's why I never watched TV in the States. But considering that I'm watching TV to pick up Korean language and culture, I want the commercials too. I use bittorrents, but I primarily want TV so I can discover new content. With bittorrent, I have to already know what I'm looking for.

I'm not famililar with HDTV, as I've never used it. The USB HDTV things I see are for over-the-air HDTV, but I'm not sure if that's even available to me. I just want the cable that I'm already paying for, routed into my laptop instead of a television.
