Hello all,
I am just wondering if anyone has any current knowledge of Reading Town in Daejeon? I have an interview with the director coming up, and was curious to know what the general consensus was re this Hagwon. The fabled Search function turned up some very positive reviews from 2004, so I am hoping that things have not changed so much in the intervening years.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice! |

I can't help you with the school I'm afraid, but I read enough on the forum last year about the Daejeon hagwon association to refuse to ever work in that town on general principle. Teachers in Daejeon might have a different take on the actual conditions of living and working there, but some hagwons have in the recent past had banners displayed, usually on buses, telling the local populace in Korean to keep an eye on foreigners and to report them for rewards if suspected of teaching illegally. I'm on an E2 and I don't do privates, but I still have no desire to work in a place where I'm constantly under suspicion and have to feel paranoid everytime I go to someone's house for dinner. |

Friend of mine worked for a Reading Town hagweon in Busan last year. They held the diplomas of all the foreign teachers. |
