There's a bunch of kids with long hair. I though Korean boys are supposed to get their hair cut around the ears.

Most of these long haired boys are real brats too. I say buzz them all military style.

Even if they are brats, I'm glad to see the finding some individualism in a culture of norms. One of my students has long hair on one side past his hears and really short hair on the other. I don't know why the Korean teachers aren't freaking on him, but more power to him.

Ugh, the last thing we need is a bunch of kids in identical uniforms with identical hair. Let the kids grow their hair! I had one kid last semester that looked like an anime character--he poofed it crazy high and it made his head look enormous.

if they all grow their hair (as it is with my high school grad. students), it isn't individuality.

They're just trying to be different like everyone else.

My middle school students aren't all trying to be different, just a few blooming flowers.

Starting this year my middle school now allows the boys to have longer hair. However, they are told to get their haircut if they misbehave.

Speaking of hair: has anyone else noticed the growing number of 버섯 머리 (mushroom heads) the middle school girls are sprouting? er sporting? Some of them are absolutely massive. Scary.

Look again, they do already.

I had one boy show up at my alternate school with a homemade haircut. It was a total mess. He tried to etch in lines with an electric trimmer and it looked like he had a seizure. Awesome.

I have a kid with a mullet. I don't think his parents understand.

It's pretty funny.

Out here in the country, I am dazzled by how awful the haircuts can be....especially the girls. These straight cuts look like something out of a medieval Monty Python sketch.

all i have noticed is the massive amount of EMO haircuts , which i would rather see on a happy go-lucky korean then a whiney westerner
