|
|
Ok, so the title gives most of it: after 10 years, it is time to ship a lot/most of the accumulated stuff home, by slow boat -
We figure after sales & giveaways, we are still looking at 1/2 of a shipping container. Anyone have any ideas on prices, to get the stuff packed, off to Incheon/Busan, and on a slow boat to the USA? We can arrange ground shipping from LA, Houston, etc. to the home (wherever that may be at that point - probably Tennessee).
Any recent info, contact, prices, translated Korean websites, etc. would be great. Obviously, little hassle, safe, low cost is the key - just the thought of a move is traumatic enough -
Regards,
G.
PS - we are NOT looking at spending 5-10k on the Mayflower moving experience, but we don't want some bongo drivers hauling our stuff off to a fishing boat, either. |

Many thanks, Rawk ~
I got 1 other PM on a different company; I'll contact both & put the info back up here, for the benefit of anyone else who might need it in the future.
Regards,

not sure if this is what you want, but a few people in my town have shipped lots of smaller boxes home. at the post office, they are labeled as box number 5, they cost like 1,000 won and are decent sized. no way you can get a couch in there, but a good amount of clothes or other things. my cousin sent two of them by surface mail, and they together cost 60,000 to the usa to send. so this might help you get your things, not including furniture home for a not too ridiculous rate.
it is a lot better than when i came in with my own boxes already filled. i think maybe they are standard shapes so easier to pack, so cheaper. |
