I'm looking into leaving Korea and coming back on a C-3 visa soon, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. For those who have gotten one in the past, what documents are required and how long does it take to get the C-3 processed? Also, any recommendations for a consulate close to Korea (Japan, China, etc.) that will process it especially quickly/easily? Thanks for your help! |

Where are you from that you need a C3?
With the exception of the US, ALL other countries that qualify as English teachers automatically get their 90 days (or 6 months for Canuks) on arrival/entry into Korea.
If you are a US citizen you can get them overnight at any of the Korean consulates in Japan or 2-4 working day service in China, the Philippines or Thailand.
You will need your passport, extra passport sized photo, application and fee.

Thanks for your help. Just to check, they won't ask for any kind of invitation letter or anything like that when I apply, will they? I just read something like that on one website so I want to make sure...
Also, to answer your question, I'm from the U.S., which is why I wanted to get the C-3 visa instead of coming in on a 30 day visa free entry. |

You are also aware that you can enter on a 30 day stamp and extend it out to 90 days by dropping into ANY immigration office and paying the fee? |

Thanks for mentioning that... I'm actually going to try to go that route instead. I would really appreciate it if someone could answer a couple of more questions for me though: Does immigration give the extensions out pretty easily? How long would I have to wait after entering before being able to go down to immigration and get one? Thanks again! |

No problem getting the extension and you should do it in the last week of your stay. |
