Recent events would indicate as so. First, Colombian forces killed Ral Reyes, one of FARC's head honchos. That led to the whole Venezuela, Ecuador, and Colombia drama of this past week. That was followed by the death of Ivan Rios, FARC's leader of the central region. The dude was killed by one of his own men.
Granted, terrorist group leaders can be like weeds sometimes, always popping up, but these recent events seem to indicate that the Colombian government has finally infiltrated FARC, and/or found some way to acquire top-notch intelligence. Is FARC on its way out? Or is it too early to tell? |
