Hi,
My eyes have crossed at the choice of notebooks/laptops out there.
Been looking on a few sites, and the more I look the more confused I get.
I have an hp pavilion zv5000, and it crashes a lot when doing stuff with movie clips and some Korean websites. It has 512 Mb RAM.
I'm looking to purchase a neat little notebook/laptop which can handle these tasks and the occasional game with ease.
I think I want a dual core model, with haps 2 GB RAM and 100GB+ of storage capacity & screen size of 14" is OK.
Can anybody recommend a good model to buy, preferably not a high-end top brand which will probably cost over 1,000,000.
Is there anything out there in my budget of less than a mill..?
Thanks in advance for reading

You can pick up Compaqs for that price.
For around a 1mil you can pick up a Thinkpad R60e widescreen (maybe)
Depends what you want. Compaq are nice enough but they age quickly physically and I'm not convinced by some of the new digital speakers and other junk they've added to them.
Missus has one but it's ok for her wants.
Seen AMD X2's for under a mil with good specs in Yongsan.
Thinkpads are just workhorses that do their thing. They never age, rarely break have the best keyboard on any laptop I have ever used and are just what I need.

In fact if you can go 100won over there is an X61 available there. 1.2kg's of sexy blackness.
Or for under the mil mark an R61i |

Thanks Mrs Squirrel, I do like IBMs after I used a 2oo3 model at my last school.
How about Vista, will it be the Korean version or can it be changed to English?
(Like with XP, you have to buy the English version for a Korean notebook) |

No idea on the Vista side of things. One of the others might know. |

I was looking at notebook websites last night.
I was bewildered and I live in Yongin.
(A type of phrase used by people to sign off when writing to agony aunts in newspapers. Lonely from London, Sick in Seattle, Crazy in Canada, Kinky in Kyrgyzstan etc, etc.)
I was getting so confused with, do I need 2GB Ram if it is a Core2 processor, or will a 1GB have no real noticeable difference in everyday use (low gaming)?
I think for something I will keep for 3-4 years, I should go for a good one. I like the look of the X61, I think the wife and me would both be happy with that. |
