I live in an apartment/officetel (I don't know what it's called) and I've noticed whenever my neighbours enter their homes, they always slam the door very loudly.

It's really unnecessary. It's like the loud shoes of Korean women.

It's like they are announcing to everybody, 'Hello, I'm home now, yes it's me, not the Minsu's, it's me Joon'.

What is the deep and meaningful reason behind this noisy behaviour?

No one in the UK ever slams doors, this is an absolute fact.

It has never occurred, I know I watch "Fawltey Towers" and "Keeping Up
Appearances". I have never seen anyone slamming doors in any of
the episodes.

I believe it has never appeared in any of the Benny Hill programs either.

I seem to recall one door being slammed in Doctor Who once, but they were being chased by a werewolf so maybe it's okay.

Why don't you ask your neighbor? (or have a Korean ask her/him if your Korean is too poor).

Tell him / her that the door slamming bothers you.

If nothing is done, then slam yours as hard as you can when you come home.

One good turn deserves another. Smile

One time I went to my friends apartment. I ended up going to the wrong one, the same apartment in the adjacent building, which looked exactly like my friends building. I went into the wrong building.

I knocked on the door and this woman comes to the door and looks puzzled, as I am standing there with all my laundry. (I was there to wash clothes since my washer at home wasn't working.)

We look at each other, shrug shoulders, I apologize, then turn away. Her little scrappy dog was standing in the doorway but she didn't know, and when she slammed the door after I walked away, it's yelp echoed for about ten seconds in the corridor. It was really really funny.

He's not British, anyway. He's a Time Lord.

Maybe you should just start slamming your door too. Randomly. And develop a xanax habit. And get a life or two.
