We are in Busan visiting my wife's family for the holiday. This is the first time I've taken a really good tour of Busan with them. Wow... this is really a beautiful place!

Haeundae, where her mom lives, is sort of like Jeonja/Bundang next to mountains and the beach.

If my wife didn't have a good job in Seoul, I'd try to convince her to move here. It's a much more enjoyable pace, and housing is cheaper (except around where my mother-in-law lives).

Welcome!

Busan kicks a$$!!!

I lived in Seoul when I first came to Korea.

Everyone goes on and on about the restaurant/food choices and nightlife in Seoul, but for day to day living Busan is the best place in Korea!

We have the beach, the people are friendlier(foreign community included) and it is so much cheaper. Seoul is just priced way to high for the actual quality of life.

I've been here 9 years and wouldn't move to Seoul ever again.

PS- Haeundae New Town and the Centum City area are the ritzy expensive part of town. It is very new and very well planned with nice, clean streets, so it's probably worth it.

Yeah all but one (my bf) of my Korean/Korean-American friends in the States kept telling me that I should go to Seoul and Seoul only-- something to do with Busan being too "country". But I am not a fast-paced city girl so I chose Busan. Now that I'm reading this thread, I'm happy that I did!

I will go to Seoul to check it out and for a Jason Mraz concert... but I am happy to be living in Busan.

Summer is going to kickazz for you. Expect a lot of visits if you live close to the beach.

Pretty much. And now that China is Korea's major trading partner, Incheon is taking all of it's business as a port city.

Busan is a dying, dirty backwater.

The place sucks. Pfffttt...
