Hi Everyone!
New to the forum and about to be embarking on my first adventure as a English teacher in South Korea! Very excited and trying to find a job in Busan. Does anyone have any suggestions about good schools to work for there? There are so many job postings on the internet and I have been finding it hard to decipher which are legit! Any help would be great!
Also, my fiance is planning on moving to Busan with me when I go to teach. He has an online business that he will be able to operate from there and we want to travel the world together and hopefully get married somewhere along the way! I have researched getting a visa for Korea for non teachers and that seems like it wont be too much a problem. I am still trying to think about the possible problems we may run into while trying to live together in Busan. Has anyone else tried doing this and have some advice and insight? Again, anything will help.
Thanks All and I look forward to sharing experiences with you all |

Hi, we're an unmarried couple and have worked both north of Busan and are now further west in Korea. We have had no problem living together and not being married - although i've heard that its more of a problem in Seoul. They were both chain named schools, so maybe they were used to many different people working there in the past. But certainly had no problems - some people & kids wonder WHY your not married - but its just because the 2 cultures are worlds apart i guess.
Cant really comment on schools tho, but the more research you do, and more people you speak to is certainly better!! |

Not married or partnered up but...
I am pretty sure that if you take the school offered apartment it will be a small one room studio style. If that is the case I recommend saving up some cash 4-6 million won so you can get your own, larger apartment.
Then again, all schools are different so you never know what you're gonna gay-et. |

ya that is really what i am wondering if it will be offensive or inapproriate to make the fact that we will be living together known to schools I am applying to and signing contracts with.
thanks! |
