1. Learn Hangeul and then you will understand their pronunciation. When you try to talk about pronunciation, remember that they will counter with that there are many possible English pronunciations. Think Hollywood, when you think of pronunciation.
2. They are not students, they are clients, and your Hagwon is a business.
3. English is a commodity to be learned "scientifically, versus English as a qualitative art.

...

Today in class, my student had the word "mirror" ; I didn't understand him...

spelling English like you did in the title of this thread. Honestly, I don't mean to be a jerk, but I see it everyday.

Why did you start your sentence with a lower case letter? "spelling... "

And, yes, you are a jerk.

Do you own your own school? I see you often make posts referring to "my foreign staff" or "my teachers".

I common mistake is failure to pronouce 'w', at the start of words.

The 'ㅜ' or 'oo' sound is used instead.
I seen this on a poster explaing English sounds in my last elementary school.
Ss don't have a problem saying w sounds, but most older people do.
It must have been drilled into them.

I say, "I wouldn't blah, blah.."
K-teacher says, "I ouldn't blah, blah.."

There are so many "w" sounds in Hangul, I think is is just bad Konglish from long ago.
Example, inserting an extra W: 대우 and Daiwoo. Convinced that any 우 sound(oo) is interchangeable with W.
