Hello hot chocolate
Thanks for your email.
Here follows the next steps for the visa so please follow the instruction below.
_________________________________________________________________
First of all, Please FAX the signed page of the contract. (Just the signed page is O.K. You don't have to send the whole pages). Below is the number that I can get your fax directly.
+82-lotsofnumbers ( Includning Country Code, 82)
AND THEN ----------------------
Please send the visa documents to our office ASAP.
Written below in colored boxes are required documents for the visa application and the document in yellow box must have an Apostille Stamp on the papers.
(Apostille Stamp : A official sticker that proves that your documents are officially notarized and apostilled by the official organization. For the teachers who are not well aware of Apostille, it's explicated at the bottom of this email. For the further information about apostille, you can get it from www.apostilleinfo.com )
2 Criminal Records
(One must be apostilled and the other one doesn't need to be apostilled. Send only the apostilled one and the other one must be kept with you.)
Self-Medical Check List (Attached to this Email)
 Apostilled Certificate of Degree Obtainment
(You must not send your original degree as the consulates request it when submitting the visa application form nowadays)
3 Sealed Transcripts with BOTH the stamp and signature on the back
And Your Transcripts Must Meet These 2 requirements.
#1. Must have a university stamp and signature(issuer's) on the back of
the sealed part.
#2. Must have an issued date in the transcript(not on the envelop).
Some universities refuses to meet these requirements as they have their
own protocols. But for your transcript to be accepted by Korean
Immigration Office, you must request them to issue one with these
prerequisites strongly. The reason why we need 3 sets of transcripts is
that two of them are required for the visa application and one is
needed when submitting the certified visa number to the korean
consulate. So please send only two and keep one in your hands.
One more thing!! Your transcript must be with whole years' record.
 A photocopy of your Passport
4 passport size pictures (Colored Ones/Black and White Unacceptable).
Your resume
 The original signed contract
-
------ Fyi, your diploma will be returned to you shortly after the completion of visa process. So, even though you send your original diploma, you can get it back again with no damages.
Here follows the mailing address of our office where you must send your documents to.
Attn: Address goes ere
On receiving your documents, we will submit them to immigration office to get your certified visa number. In 7~10 days (usual transaction period), the immigration office will send the certified visa number to your email address and Korean Consulate (It must be in your country) will stamp your visa onto your passport. It will be much more convenient for you to make a phone call to the consulate before your visit (not required).
For the reminder, on getting the certified number, you must submit the visa applicaiton form to the consulate in YOUR country. It used to be accepted even if you submitted to a consulate in another country but the korean immigration law changed as of December, 2007. And if you are coming to Korea as an ESL teacher for the first time, you must have an in-person interview with the immigration officer.
After your visa is sorted out, you can pick up your ticket through the designated airline and with your visa in hand and your bags packed, and you can start your adventure. Your future employer will pick you up at the airport and take you to your apartment and the school.
ONE MORE THING TO KEEP IN MIND!! After you come to Korea, you must obtain a Medical Certificate issued by the designated hospitals by immigration office. And this must be turned in to the immigration when applying for alien registration card. If the Self-Medical Check List which was formerly submitted and Medical Certificate dont match, you will be ousted without notice. So please make sure not to fabricate your self-medical check list.
Ps. When you send them, please write down your phone number as well.
And don't forget to use the couriers such as UPS or FedEx . We faced some problems sporadically as officers of other couriers lost some teachers' documents. Now and then, DHL opens the sealed transcript at the airport. So, please make sure NOT TO USE DHL. Registered Mail isn't reccomendable, either. On sending all your documents, let me know the tracking number as well so that I can track down the whereabouts of your documents.

Now is it just me or is this whole
2 CRBs and 3 transcripts thing taking the piss?
It means im gonna have to fork out ANOTHER 30-40 quid for more documents and wait god knows how long to get a visa.
Would I be able to just photocopy my CRB, send off the original and keep the copy (that I must keep) for myself?
Apart from all this confusion above, I currently have everything BUT my CRB which is being dealt with now but I only have one copy of all of these.
Will I REALLY have to fork out for all the other stuff? |
