Well, I got a call from the nurse, and she said that I tested...not positive, but she said that they couldn't confirm that it was negative. WTF?

I have never taken any street drugs, even pot, but she said I had traces of cannibinoids! How could that be? The only other thing I had taken was some ibuprofin, which can cause false positives...but I took it about 4 days before the test. I can't believe it would still be interfering.

They were really nice, and asked me to come back for a retest, and to not take anything at all that might affect the test. I am kind of freaked...I never worried about this at all, since I figured I had nothing to worry about!

Any ideas of what might cause this? I hope that I get a better test next time...I can't get my ARC (or my pay!) until the medical stuff gets done.

Drink tons of water.

Eight glasses a day until the next test.

ya...I'll do that. Can drinking coffee mess up the test? I drink one or two cups of strong coffee every day.

Maybe if I eat a lot of kimchi... Wink

Stay away from anything green for food, no kimchi nothing leafy.

Eat rice only until the test.

No onions no ramein.

Drink lots of water/cranberry juice before hand. Make sure to urinate at least once before you go to the clinic.

If there are trace amounts of canniniboids (sp?) in you then they're most likely to be detected in your first urine passage of the day.

Ideally you should fast before any kind of test (urine, blood) for a period of about 12 or more hours.

You've been found to have 'traces' of illegal drugs, but not enough to 'fail' the test.

The reasoning is quite simple, how did they get in system in the first place? Logic to them would say you did take drugs, but not recently.

Hence you are a drug user in their eyes. Everyone will view you now with suspicion and you may very well be on your way out. Then again, maybe not.

Not a good position to be in.

It's standard procedure for getting a work visa. They will test you when you are here. If you fail, you will be detained & deported at your expense.

It is just a urine and blood test for stds.

I really am clean, and always have been...so this is a real caution about the reliabilty of these tests. I have heard the the cheaper and faster urine tests are not very discerning, so I''m gonna ask to have the more expensive and exact test done next time.

The thing is you could have cannabis showing up in your test from being around people who smoke the stuff... I am from a jamaican background so used to be subject to that kind of stuff but it does fade out only showing up in hair or something. But even still...

I hope your test is better next time.

Im not lookin forward to doing mine, I am always worried about tests even if I know things will be fine they still bother me, I went on a 40 days alcohol sabbatical and drank nothing but green tea and water Ill be urinating some lovely green tea into their sample cups they will wonder if I am some crazy human kettle.
