|
|
My police report went out from Canada via regular mail (no options here) to the Canadian Embassy in Seoul on March 5th.
The Canadian Embassy in Seoul doesn't have it yet. Though I imagine mail might take a day to process at their end too. It had to be sent to the embassy btw and it has a contact there that it was sent attention too etc...
I need to renew by the end of May. CRC took only 5-6 days so I can do it again if I have to. At what point should I be worried that the mail is not coming and pay for/send for another CRC? How long does it usually take for snail mail to get from Canada to Seoul?

| Give it at least 2 weeks. That's how long it seems to take me to get mail from the States, be it from Boston or Hawaii. |

hmmm.... the Korean EMBASSY is in Canada. You are asking how long from the police service in Canada to the embassy in Canada or the Embassy in Canada to you (or someone) here in Korea?
Who will be sending it to Korea? Where did the police send it to? Your post and routing for your mail are confusing.
Regular post mail usually takes 10-15 business days to get here from Canada (faster if the address is written in Korean as well as English).

| To the OP, you have me a little worried. I am also waiting for my CRC to be mailed back to me, in Korea, via FEDEX. Were you informed by the embassy that CRC processed overseas must have the document sent directly to them? |

meh oops - I meant to the Canadian Embassy in seoul
And yeah, the Ottawa Police insisted on mailing the CRC directly to the Canadian Embassy in Soul or a local police station so that my ID could be checked before receiving it. The Ottawa Police had no courrier option. |

| Depending on what kind of parcel, and whether the address is written in English or Hanguel, I've found it can take from three days to three months. |

Are you serious? Is having the address in Korean really that important?
After two weeks should I get them to send it again and first e-mail them a Korean address to pront and paste to the envelope? Will that really make a big difference? |
