I am really ignorant.
How far is this place from Seoul? And briefly, do you like it? |

Actually, Bundang is in Seongnam city.
Are you refering to Bundang-gu or Bundang-dong.
I live in Seoyhun-dong, Bundang-gu and unless the expressway has turned into a parking lot (as it does at rush hour or on some weekends) I can be in Itaewon in about 25 minutes and Jongno in about 40.
By comparison, if you live in Gangdong, Seoul, it can take over an hour to get to Itaewon. |

I was told about a school located in Seongnam, in Bundang.
Do you know which place they are talking about Tom? I don't! |

Well bundang isn't really a small place. It has it's own subway line. You will have to get them to be a bit more specific. |

If Bundang is the closest thing that Seoul has to Westchester County, Seongnam would be the Bronx.
Close to Seoul, cheap as all hell, lots of Chinese and people from SW Korea, the biggest dog meat market in Korea, etc. I lived there for two years and commuted into Seoul, not a bad balance of close to Seoul and low cost of living. Much more down to earth than Gangnam or Bundang, nice people mostly if rather drunken even by Korean standards... |

Do you happen to know which bus I can take to get to Itaewon from Seoyhun? Also Hongdae? I'm pretty clueless regarding the bus... |

You can catch the 9001, 9401, and I think the 5500-2 among others. I read the side of the bus rather than memorize bus numbers/routes so I can't remember the rest but I know the 9401 and 9001 express to Hanam from Seohyun (no stops) for sure. There are others as well.
They will drop you off across the street from Hanam village (us residential compound) and just down the street from the Volvo building / Hanam market
It runs on a 10 minute schedule. You can catch it across the street from Outback restaurant. They are the orange buses. |

Not really. It's connected to the Seoul Metropolitan Railroad System, it's not autonomous. |

Be a tad bit cautious of that ad. The only reason I say that is because I don't consider Bundang to be part of Seongam City. Yes, Bundang is in Seongnam, but it's not the same as Seongnam City. They are two different places, although quite close.
Bundang = mostly newer and rich
Seongnam = mostly middle class or poor
They may be trying to pass a crappy Seongnam City school (although it's not a bad place to be at all) as a good Bundang one because they know the word Bundang attracts more interest.
Just something to think about. |

If you can get the name of the nearest subway stop to the school, you can look online at the Seoul Subway map and estimate the time to get anywhere. It's usually about 2 minutes between stations. |

Leave him alone he needs attention.
Sad to say he is still here.
Why I never believe it when people say they are leaving a discussion forum. |

I need attention? You've been trolling my posts for awhile now looking for a juicy comeback. I haven't given you one yet, so...
Grow up.
That's that. |
