Can anyone explain to me how to set up a sling box, so that I can get someone at home to set it up, so I can watch normal tv here. I'm in a small town with 3 english channels....

If you have a TV tuner for your computer back home, theres a free program so that you don't even need a Slingbox.

In case you haven't bought one yet.

I've heard that it doesn't really work all that well to have someone have a sling-box online all of the time because their ISP will notice the big drain 24 hours a day and assume that they're doing something wrong and possibly cut their service.

You should look into getting a direct TV or dish network or whatever the company is called here. Our boss told us that we could get satellite TV for like 100,000/month. If you're living in a small town you should be able to squeeze this into your budget.

Just a thought.

Problem with satellite here is that its Korean satellite TV, which means yes, you get 300 channels (or whatever) but 90% are Korean-language. You can't get American satellite TV over here. The satellites are in a geosynchronous orbit, so they "hover" over the USA all the time. You can't pick one up from Korea, even if you have the equipment, because you have no line of sight over the horizon.
