OK, I totally understand that some people will jump on this post and try to spew out stuff against religion and churches, but I'm not asking for that.

I can respect your hostility to religion -- I'm not trying to force anything down anyone's throat!

I am just asking if anyone knows of any English church services that happen in Changwon, because I'm considering a job there. My faith is important to me just as some people's hosility towards religion is important to them.

If there are no English church services in Changwon, would anyone know of a church or two nearby?

I am looking for a protestant church; I am not interested in Jehovah's Witnesses churches . . . as I saw in an earlier post

If they have websites, I'd like to check them out.

English services are strange...Who would go to them besides foreigners? If you're like most protestants aren't you more into the whole fellowshiping thing when you go to church rather than understanding the liturgy. You'll meet some interesting people going to church, you might even meet girls. I'd say suck it up and try the korean churchs until you find one you like.

OK, like I said, I take my faith seriously.

I did not put up all of those neon red crosses . . . I have never even been to Korea.

I've gone through a phase where I was very hostile to Christianity, and I do not intend to provoke anyone!

I'm sorry if my request for information for my personal use has offended you.

Then Korea might be the wrong country for you.

Christianity is huge here, but you'll probably see a lot of the lamer parts of the religion magnified here, such as the judgementalism, conservativeness, and reliance on prayer rather than medical science. Plus sending kids into war zones to sing Christian songs in the line of fire.

I'm assuming it's a nightmare to any devoted Christian.

As I said earlier, I merely want to know if anyone knows of English-speaking Christian services/groups in Changwon.

I VERY much doubt you'd find one there, but Busan probably isn't too far to go to for church.

From Naver:

Where is there a church in Changwon that offers sermons in English?

I heard there are several places so please let me knew the names of the churches.

If you know, please let me know their method of offering the sermon (for example if they preach in English)

Also the time of the sermon and the time for gathering.

More than anything please let me know of any churches offering sermons in English.

The Reply:

They do it at Changwon Milal Church.

It's near MyungGok elementary school.

But I'm not certain

Last summer English Professor and Minister Lee Han Su came

They memorize the hymns in English, and say the Lord's Prayer and the Apostolic Creed in English too.

I heard they will have people coming to teach English classes this wiinter too.

Whatever your reason was, it'll probably be back with a vengeance in this country.
